9 Ways to Use Cool, Refreshing Peppermint Oil

Everyone is familiar with the fresh, cool, sweet and minty scent of peppermint. It is used as a flavouring agent for a wide variety of products we use and consume in daily life, from toothpaste and mouthwash to chewing gum and ice cream.
But did you know that there are numerous health benefits to peppermint that have been studied and proved by the scientific community? That’s why peppermint essential oil is one of the most popular essential oils.
Here are just a few of the many ways peppermint oil can be used:
1. Nausea or Motion Sickness. Add a few drops to a tissue and inhale for relief.
2. Digestive Problems. Add 6-8 drops to 30ml or 1oz of unscented massage oil and massage it into your stomach area.
3. Headaches. Add a few drops on to a cool wet towel and use as a compress on the forehead. You can also use our headache relief roll-on which has a combination of peppermint and lavender essential oils. These methods also work well for hangovers.
4. Respiratory Issues. Menthol, which is abundantly present in peppermint oil, helps to clear the respiratory tract. Peppermint oil is great for providing temporary relief of nasal congestion, asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, cold and cough. Add 10-20 drops to an aromatherapy diffuser and breathe deeply.
5. Foot Odor. Add a few drops to a foot bath. Alternatively, you try our natural peppermint & eucalyptus foot scrub. Follow up by rubbing in some of our peppermint & eucalyptus foot & leg lotion. To prevent future odor, try spraying your shoes with our peppermint & eucalyptus spray.

I use it for all of those reasons stated above, especially aches and pains, and to keep cool. Peppermint has such a nice fresh strong scent. It is definetly in my top five!
