More staff favourites from the front lines. Who better to trust than the people who work with our products everyday and know all of them intimately.

  • Shirley from our Head Office says ” The Renewal Lip Balm stick is the best lip balm I have ever used. It beats Burt’s Bees and all other natural lip balms. It has natural shea butter and beeswax to soften and moisturize lips like no other. I would recommend this lip balm to anyone that has extremely dry lips or lives in constant cold climates. Try it once and you will never go back to any other lip balms out there.”

Aromatherapy Tips for Travellers

07:

Today I’m writing to you loyal Escents blog readers from Portland, Oregon instead of my hometown of Vancouver. With that in mind, I have a few aromatherapy tips for travelling:

  • Travel candles are an excellent way to make a hotel room feel more welcoming and personal, and they’re light and don’t take up precious space in your luggage.
  • The recirculated air on planes is drying: sensitive skin benefits from a spritz of rose hydrosol after a flight.
  • 5ml and 15ml aroma blends are small enough to put in the plastic bag of liquids and gels in your carry-on luggage. Right before boarding, put a dab of willow (or your preferred blend) on your wrists to relax you and make for a more pleasant flight. (If your seat partner is a stranger, you should ask them before using any essential oils during the flight, in case you trigger an allergy or sensitivity.)

Portland is beautiful. What’s your ideal vacation destination?

Scrub Masks

A new tip to try out, from Michelle at the Escents store and spa on commercial drive: let your facial scubs and/or masks dry completely before rinsing them off.

“Our scrub masks are really nice when you let them dry on your skin before rinsing. For instance, the Honey Mask is beautiful when you spread it over your face and let it sit and dry for 5 minutes before rinsing/exfoliating it off (in circular motions with water). By leaving the mask on to dry, you get the benefits of the oils as they penetrate your skin before making use of the exfoliating benefits of the scrub.”

Thanks, Michelle!
